Simple Machines Project Criteria
Your assignment is to create a Rube Goldberg Machine which exemplifies simple machines and force. The task could be to ring a bell, pop a balloon, catch a creature or any number of other simple tasks.
The six simple machines are wedge, screw, wheel and axle, pulley, inclined plane and lever. The three examples of force we talked about are push, pull, and gravity (although technically gravity is a pull force). Can you demonstrate a pull force that is not gravity???
This assignment is to be completed with materials you can find at home. Your recycling bin and old toy boxes are best. If locating materials is an issue just have your parents send a note and I will gladly provide you with some. I completely understand if your project becomes too difficult to bring to school. Please create a video of it and bring it to school on a usb drive or email me the file if you are unable to demonstrate at school.
Due Date is Tuesday, February 13
Extending Used six simple machines Explains and demonstrates all six in multiple areas 15+ seconds
Mastering Used six simple machines Explains and demonstrates all six simple machines 7-15 seconds
Developing Used two or three simple machines Explains and demonstrates some simple machines 4-6 seconds
Aquiring Used some simple machines No explanation 1-3 seconds
